A setting in the Preferences window can limit the number of characters per caption when importing a paragraph or more of text. Plain text files can also be broken up into captions using carriage returns and then imported as Text in Line Form so that each line will be a separate caption. Note that plain text files and files of other formats should first be saved as UFT-8 Encoding with Unix line breaks (typically an option in text editors when doing a Save As) for best results.
