On Bethel-owned computers, the WebEx Meeting Center applications should be pre-installed for you, but you will still need to install the extensions into Chrome or Firefox, and you will access and use the applications through your browser.

If any of the needed applications or extensions are not already in place, you will be prompted to complete these steps: Cbp agriculture specialist manual.

Install WebEx for Chrome

Set
  1. In Chrome, navigate to webex.bethel.edu and click 'Log In'.
  2. After signing in, click 'Start Meeting'.
  3. If you are prompted, install the Chrome extension by clicking 'Add WebEx to Chrome', then 'Add extension'.
  4. If the WebEx Meeting Center applications are not already installed, an installer will be downloaded automatically, and must be run manually. Open the installer by clicking it in the bottom lefthand corner.
  5. A window will open showing the installer application. Double-click on 'Install Cisco WebEx Add-On'.
  6. If presented with a security window, choose 'Open'.
  7. The installer application will ask if you want to install the application. Choose 'Install'.
  8. When installation is complete, your meeting should now launch, and future meetings can be started using only steps 1 and 2.

Install WebEx for Firefox

  1. In Firefox, navigate to webex.bethel.edu and click 'Log In'.
  2. After signing in, click 'Start Meeting'.
  3. If you are prompted, install the Firefox extension by clicking 'Add WebEx to Firefox'.
  4. Select 'Allow' if presented with a security popup, and then select 'Add'.
  5. If the WebEx Meeting Center applications are not already installed, an installer will be downloaded automatically, and must be run manually. An Open/Save window should be presented. Open the installer by clicking 'OK'.
  6. A window will open showing the installer application. Double-click on 'Install Cisco WebEx Add-On'.
  7. If presented with a security window, choose 'Open'.
  8. The installer application will ask if you want to install the application. Choose 'Install'.
  9. When installation is complete, your meeting should now launch, and future meetings can be started using only steps 1 and 2.

Install WebEx for Safari

  1. In Safari, navigate to webex.bethel.edu and click 'Log In'.
  2. After signing in, click 'Start Meeting'.
  3. If the WebEx Meeting Center applications are not already installed, an installer must be run manually. You will be presented with a page to download the installer.
  4. When the download is complete, follow the instructions on the next page to open and run the installer. The menu to open the downloaded file, as in the image below (Item 1), will be in the top right.
  5. As shown in the image above (Item 2), A window will open showing the installer application. Double-click on 'Install Cisco WebEx Add-On'.
  6. If presented with a security window, choose 'Open'.
  7. The installer application will ask if you want to install the application. Choose 'Install'.
  8. If presented with a security window, choose 'Trust'.
  9. When installation is complete, your meeting should now launch, and future meetings can be started using only steps 1 and 2.

Installing Productivity Tools

Note: if you have a previous version of Productivity Tools, you have to uninstall it before installing the new version.

You may also have to close applications, such as Microsoft Outlook and any browsers, before installing the new version of Productivity Tools. Those applications must be started up again and you may have to sign in before seeing the new interface.

Set
  1. Log in to your Webex site and select ‘Meeting Centre’ tab.
  2. In the left-hand column, click ‘Support’, then ‘Downloads’.
  3. Click ‘Webex Productivity Tools’.
  4. Select ‘Windows’ or ‘Mac’, then ‘Download’.
  5. If using Internet Explorer, click ‘Run’ in the pop-up box at the bottom. The download will begin. If using another browser, you may have to take different steps to start the download.
  6. Once downloaded, double-click to start the installation. The installation wizard will guide you through the installation process. Accept the user license and select the required setup. Confirm the installation destination, then click ‘Install’. Once the installation is complete, click ‘Finish’ to close the wizard.
  7. Restart your Office suite or any single Office program if opened.

Tip: Productivity Tools are associated with one Webex account at a time. If you want to use Productivity Tools with another Webex account, the software will need to be uninstalled and reinstalled with the new account.
